October was a crazy month. Brandon's parents came to visit Hong Kong for a week, and then we went to Macau (a surprise trip we planned for them!) and Siem Reap with them. And then Brandon and I went to Singapore. The first day that they were in Hong Kong was 'Beertopia' craft beer festival. A great way to get over jet lag ;) It's a huge craft beer festival that has beers from all over the world. And it's on the Central waterfront in HK, so it's an awesome view. It was a great way to introduce Nichols to the city! We also went on the HK Ferris Wheel, to Big Buddha (with the cable car), Happy Valley Races, and Disneyland during their time in HK.

Since I have only been posting after vacations, I decided that I was going to try something new to force me to post more often. A summary of the month on the last day of the month. This way, all of the posts should be semi-interesting and I'll post more than just after vacations.
Last weekend, we had a long weekend, so Brandon and I headed off to Macau to get away for a few days. We left on Friday morning, and then returned Sunday afternoon. Perfect little get-away. To get to Macau from Hong Kong, you take a ferry. It took about an hour. Apparently, they're going to start building a bridge soon from HK to Macau, which will be super cool when it's done. I think it's something like 18 miles or so. Crazy. Our hotel in Macau was really nice. It was old, but still really nice. Gorgeous resort-style pool outside. So we spent part of the day Friday and Saturday just relaxing by the pool. Much needed.
