For our Easter break, we decided to do a road trip in Australia. We flew into Sydney and then rented a campervan and drove the coast to Melbourne. Overall, it was one of my favorite vacations. We went with a different campervan company than in NZ because we wanted one that was a bit newer and smaller so it would be easier to drive and consume less gas. The US dollar was a lot stronger at the time of this trip (opposed to when we went to NZ), so it actually ended up being a fairly inexpensive vacation. We took a daytime flight to Sydney, so we arrived late at night. We decided to get a hotel so that we wouldn’t have to figure out our first night of camping in the dark. Very good decision. We picked up our van on day 2 and headed out of Sydney. We stopped at a few places to pick up the essentials, and found “Target” on the map and got really excited. Very disappointing to realize that Aussie Target is nothing compared to the US. We did find a French press coffee maker there though, which was a definite ‘necessity’ for the trip! Our first stop was at Royal National Park. We did some short hikes along the water and it was gorgeous. Our campsite was okay. Nothing special, but definitely not bad.

Apologies that it has been way too long since I last posted. I really need to get better about posting not just after we go on vacation... This Christmas, we decided to spend the holiday in Australia and New Zealand. We first spent 3 days in Sydney, and then moved on to New Zealand, where we rented a campervan and drove pretty much the whole country. About 4500km.
