Today we took a boat along one of the lakes up to a winery for lunch and wine tasting. The wine wasn't the best, but the food was awesome. A really nice and relaxing day :)

Since it's Easter weekend, we decided to spend two nights in one place because the campsite actually had availability and we were nervous that we wouldn't have been able to find another (Easter is a super popular time to travel in Oz). We stayed in a town called Lakes Entrance. It's right on the ocean and then there are a lot of lakes. Today we drove from Bateman's bay to Meribula. Not a lot here, just lots of shops and restaurants. Along the way, we stopped for lunch at a really cute place along a pier. Today was my favorite day so far. In the morning, we went on a eco tour of Jervis Bay. We saw lots of dolphins and just had a really nice day on the water. Tonight, we're at a campsite near Murramarang NP and there are tons of kangaroos! They literally came right up to us! We accidentally took some chips with us down to the beach, and then they came hopping right up to us. We did not feed them, but they wouldn't leave. They were like 2 feet in front of us. We then moved our chairs back a bit because they were starting to scare us. A bit too close for comfort. Today was our first full day in Australia. It was wonderful! We picked up our camper and drove a bit south of Sydney to Royal National Park. It was gorgeous! We went on a little hike and saw some amazing views like this. I'm very sad that we have to leave today :( It's been an awesome few days of activities and relaxing. We're off to Manila now to do some shopping before heading back to Hong Kong tomorrow. Ok, I have to post two pictures today. In the morning, I sat by the beach with a cocnut and read. It was amazing. Then in the afternoon we went scuba diving! Brandon had never been, so he did the discovery diving, which just meant that he had to have an instructor right next to him the whole time and couldn't go deeper than 12m. It was still amazing! And we got some awesome pictures and videos on our GoPro. My favorite part was feeding the fish bread, which is what's going on in the picture. Our activity for today, besides massages, was jet skiing! We rented two jet skis for half hour and rode around. There was a flagged area that we had to stay in, but it was still super fun. Today was another day of sitting around. We went on a sunset cruise this evening, which was very nice. We really needed a vacation like this of nothing stressful, after our last two to Europe and India. |
