After a long week of sightseeing, I was ready for a lazy Friday night. And that's exactly what I had and it was awesome. My absolute favorite food is nachos. So that's what I made myself for dinner. Yum :)

Today was just another normal day at school. We were actually able to come home about 4pm and I only had an hour of work to do at home, so that was a major plus. While I was marking some papers and watching tv tonight, Camo was hanging out by me. So here's a funny picture that I took of him. After another normal day at school, we went to the races with my grandma. I think she really enjoyed herself, as it was another unique experience. She leaves bright and early tomorrow morning, so hopefully this has been a great and memorable week for her in Hong Kong! Totally meant to post a picture of my new camera the other day, but I didn't because it arrived the day my grandma did and that was more exciting to post about. So today I decided to take a picture of it and post it, because I am incredibly excited to have it :) I put it on the ground to take a picture of it, and of course, Camo had to go see what it was. So he's in the background as well. Nothing too exciting today. Just a normal day at school and then we went out to dinner with my grandma. Tomorrow's her last full day :( She leaves for LA on Thursday to go and visit my uncles. Today, my grandma and Brandon Fosso came into school for a little while to watch some of our classes. I was also able to set my grandma up with observing a music class where the teacher is also a St. Olaf grad, like my grandma. So I know she got a kick out of it. After school today, we all went to Disney. We did a few rides and saw a show. Grandma even went on Space Mountain! We were very impressed. We then went to our favorite restaurant, a Mexican place, in DB for dinner. Overall, an awesome day :) Today, my grandma and I spent some time wandering around Mong Kok and then met up with Brandon and Brandon at the Big Buddha. This is a picture of the Big Buddha and me trying to get a little more artsy with my new camera :)
On Saturday, the four of us went to Macau for the day. We did a little wandering, but our main entertainment was to see the "House of Dancing Water" show. Brandon and I saw it back in September, but it's absolutely incredible, so it was totally worth it to go again. It's seriously the coolest show I've ever been to. It's a lot of water acrobatics, but there's also a (weird) storyline that I don't understand. And some fun surprises along that way that you're totally not expecting. After the show, we all went out to dinner and then Grandma and I made our way back to Hong Kong, and finally arrived back in our apartment at 1 am. She's a trooper! Brandon and Brandon decided to spend the night in Macau.
My grandma arrived on Thursday night and our friend, Brandon Fosso arrived Friday night, so after school on Friday, we all went out to our favorite place, The Globe, in Central.
Today's picture is the view from our apartment this morning. It was a gorgeous, clear morning with an amazing sunrise. The rest of the day was pretty great too for a couple reasons. One, my new dslr camera came in the mail :) hopefully that will motivate me to take some better pictures. And two, my grandma arrived tonight :) She had just been in the Philippines for a week visiting her cousin, so decided to stop by HK for a week as well. Everything went according to plan at the airport. Her flight landed at 9:07 and I met up with her at 9:22 and we were on the 9:30 bus back to Discovery Bay. Perfect :) Tonight I had an appointment over on Hong Kong island, so I totally meant to take a picture of the gorgeous lights over there. But, I was just about to miss the ferry (which only comes every 20 minutes) so I decided not that take any. So this is a picture of the view from our apartment. The Hong Kong skyline is in the background. |
