I can't remember if I've written about this before or not, but I'm doing a mindfulness course called MBSR. I have class usually once a week for 2.5 hours, but today was the meditation retreat. Seven hours. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to it at all, but it actually was really good. Very relaxing. And I realize how far I've come with meditating. My mind still wanders a lot, but it's much better than it used to be! Anyway, after that, Brandon and I went into Central to have some good food and beer. A fun night just the two of us out on the town :)

Joe and Pam had to work today, so we were on our own. We went to another escape room and then Universal. I think escape rooms are going to become our new thing. Haha. Universal was the same as it always is. BSG roller coasters still aren't open :( At the airport, we went to our lounge that we usually go to because we get in for free with our AmEx card. And get a free 15 minute shoulder massage :) We also discovered that we get a free set lunch at a restaurant too with our card. Wish we would have known that sooner! The food was okay, but awesome that it was free :) Today we did a few new Singapore things :) First we went to the waterpark on Sentosa. It was alright. The slides were okay and it was busy. A couple hours was enough time there. Then, we did an Escape Room! They're these rooms that you have to solve puzzles and search for things in order to escape. It was so much fun! Yes, nerdy, but super fun! I think Brandon and I are going to try and do another one tomorrow! After that, we went to a Japanese craft beer place and then went to a hawker center for dinner. Delicious! We ended the evening with board games at Joe and Pam's. Overall another awesome day in SG! It's been a really boring last few weeks. I seriously haven't taken any photos. Yesterday, was the start of a long weekend, so we left for Singapore to visit a couple of our friends. Today we spent the day doing lots of touristy things. Singapore Zoo, Level 33 bar for drinks with a view, Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling, Gardens by the Bay for the light show, and ended the evening off with some good craft beer. Overall, an awesome day. Just a regular Sunday here in Discovery Bay. Spent some of the day doing work and some of it relaxing. And then got a massage in the evening. This picture is just of the beach on the walk down to the plaza. Nothing too exciting :) Today we went up to Sha Tin and went to the 10,000 Buddha's temple. There definitely were 10,000 Buddhas! And lots of stairs. According to my Fitbit, the equivalent of 45 flights of stairs. After that, we went to a beer place called TAP in Mong Kok which was pretty good. And then a German place called King Ludwig for dinner. Amazing soft pretzels there! Wish I would have just gotten a few of those for dinner! Overall, a great day of new things in HK 😄 Today was a holiday, so we didn't have school. Yay! I was hoping I would be able to sleep in, but I have a fat cat who is very needy. So no such luck. I actually got a picture of him this morning doing what he does 90%of mornings. Usually it's too dark or I can't reach my phone because there's a 22lb cat on my head. |
