So clearly I didn't have internet for most of the break. But now we're back and I have no excuses not to post every day again! Today's picture isn't from today, but it's of my favorite place we went on our trip: The Great Wall of China. Even though Beijing was less than desirable, the Great Wall was really neat. We got there just as it was closing, so we got to be on it with very few people, which was awesome. The section of it that we went to was a little further from town than the most popular one, so that also helped with the crowds. I plan on writing about everything for my April post in a couple days, so look for that update there :)

Awesome day today. We went to the Taipei Zoo (and saw pandas!!) and then wandered around Taipei and had a great local meal out. Now we're just grabbing some wifi at a Starbucks before heading to a night market and then back to the ship later tonight. I'll post on here whenever we can get wifi, but it probably won't be too often. There will be a full post on the main page when we get back in two weeks. We just boarded our cruise :) the picture is in our room. We have a window! We've never had a window before. Haha. This will probably be my last post for a while because we're on the cruise for 14 days and won't have internet unless we can find free wifi on any of our shore excursions. So excited for this vacation! Today, Marissa and I went shopping at Stanley for the day and then met up with Brandon downtown for dinner and then we went out after. This is the least ridiculous picture we took throughout the evening. We had a half day of school today because it's the day before break. Marissa and I went to Disney, so this is a picture of us on "It's a Small World." Today was a busy day. We had a normal day of school from 8-4 and then from 4-8 we had parent teacher conferences. And then Marissa came, so we went to the horse races. Busy day! But very good day. It was my second to my last class with my seniors, because we have break for the next two weeks and then they're off for a week for studying and then they have their exams for all of May. So it's been bittersweet. I have grown to absolutely love that class. They're awesome. Anyway, Marissa got to HK around 6, so just waited around in the plaza til we were done with conferences. And then I met her and we headed off to the races. I love going to the races, and I actually won! Well, I came out $4 ahead (oh and that's HK $, so about $0.55 US. Haha) Marissa won on both races, so she won $120 HK, so about $15 US, so not bad. The best anyone has done that we've seen (clearly we hang with the high rollers. Haha.) After school today we went over to Causeway Bay to pick up and few things and go out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse (don't judge). I absolutely love Hong Kong at night. I don't think I'll ever get over how amazing of a skyline it has. Tonight, we saw that there were a few buildings that had some different lights on it, so that's what this is a picture of. On another note, only three more days of school and then it's break!! Marissa's coming tomorrow for a few days and then Brandon and I leave on a cruise on Sunday! Yay! :) Today we just spent the day at home. However, at 8:30am the fire alarm went off. We live on the 25th floor, but thought, just in case it's real, we should go outside. So we packed Camo in his carrier and headed down the stairs. It actually didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would. About 8 min. Hopefully that's short enough that if there is a real fire, we'll be fine. But sure enough, once we got to floor 3, the alarm stopped. But the elevators still weren't working, so we just went all the way down and hung out outside for a bit. So that's what this picture is. Our excitement for the day! Today was an awesome day on a junk boat in Hong Kong. We pretty much just ride around in the nice parts of Hong Kong (like where the water is clear enough to swim!) and hang out and drink and eat. All day. It was amazing! Food, sun, drinks, and friends. Fabulous day! Brandon had his whole basketball team over to our apartment for their end of season party. The boys made him a 'coach of the year' plaque with his name engraved and all of their names engraved on the stand. It was really nice. PS the reflection of what looks like a champagne bottle is non-alcoholic. The boys brought it to celebrate. |
