After school today, we went into Central to try and find a costume for Brandon for the book week parade on Friday. He found a Tigger one! The picture is just of the cool Pottinger Street in Central where there are tons of small costume shops.

Today we walked around Sentosa Island. It's a man made island that has tons of new and cool stuff. One of the things is the Sentosa Merlion (picture), which ironically, is about 10x the size of the actual one. We didn't do any specific activities, just walked for a while. And then we met Joe and Pam for lunch before we were off to the airport. Short, but great weekend! Today we spent the day at Universal Studios. Lots of rides, walking, and then happy hour with some more rides in the evening :) Overall, an awesome day! We had parent-teacher conferences today at school. Nothing too exciting there. However, around 1pm today, Brandon told me there were $190 flights to Singapore, so now we're sitting at the airport waiting for our flight! I know we just got back from Oz, but hey, we love traveling! :) We're at the end of our campervan journey. We've spent the day in Melbourne and are flying out early tomorrow morning. It's been an incredible vacation. Surprisingly quite relaxing, even though there was lots of travel. We're driving along the Great Ocean Road today. Absolutely amazing!! It's like highway 1 in California. Kinda scary, but absolutely stunning. We stopped quite a few times just to enjoy to view. We didn't really do any activities. Just drove and enjoyed the scenery. Well, we're waiting for the tow truck to bring us to Melbourne to get a new camper. At least we're only 2 hours away and it shouldn't affect our itinerary too much. At least we're waiting in luxury :) Coffee and iPad games. Haha. Today we drove to Philip Island to see the penguin parade. So cool! Unfortunately no pictures allowed, so this is just when we were waiting for the penguins. We arrived early so we had a front row seat. Penguins came within inches of us. Amazing! On another not so good note, our camper broke down tonight :( We had to call to get a mechanic out and now we need a new camper because it will take too long to fix. Two pictures today.... We went to Raymond Island today and saw koalas! There are apparently about 600 living on the island, but we only saw about five. I thought it would be a nature reserve, but it was very residential. Like koalas in people's front yard. Very interesting. Tonight we're camping at an awesome site on the beach! Probably my favorite campsite so far. |
